Nuestro Mundo Community School
Nuestro Mundo Community School is a Spanish-English dual-language immersion charter school that operates within the confines of Frank Allis Elementary School on Madison's east side.

The philosophy of NMCS’s dual language immersion is to develop literacy in both languages, preparing students for success in an increasingly global economy, and to promote acceptance and understanding of cultural differences and strengths.
Currently, NMCS offers immersion education from Kindergarten through 4th grade but will add one grade each year until the program is fully developed for K–5th grade.
Students from throughout the Madison Metropolitan School District are eligible to attend NMCS; however, preference is given to students within the Frank Allis/NMCS attendance area, with any remaining openings filled by lottery. Current demand has exceeded available openings such that even some students residing within the Frank Allis/NMCS attendance area have been placed on a waiting list.
NMCS benefits from a high level of parent engagement from both Spanish-dominant and English-dominant families. The Site Leadership Council provides a forum for parents, teachers and the administration to enhance communication and build a sense of community by participating in the governance of the school. Such participation contributes to a sense of pride and ownership where families feel that they have a real voice and a stake in the school. Parental satisfaction in NMCS is reflected in our yearly student retention rate, which is considerably higher than the national average for other dual immersion schools.
