NMCS Spelling Bee 2009
by Joshua Forehand, fourth grade teacher
Nuestro Mundo held its first spelling bee on January 15, 2009. Eleven students showed great courage by getting up in front of about 100 spectators to compete for the chance to represent our school in the All-City Scripps Spelling Bee sponsored by the Wisconsin State Journal.
Congratulations to all contestants for demonstrating good sportsmanship throughout the contest and to Renata Jaeger and Isioma Enwemnwa for battling it out to the end. After several rounds between the two of them, Isioma Enwemnwa emerged victorious.
The Spelling Bee was conducted by Emily Zoeller, Literacy Instructional Resource Teacher. The judges were Nancy Engle, Librarian, and Katy Schwallier, School Psychologist. We appreciate your participation, the event couldn't have happened without you.
Thanks to families, friends, and classmates for coming to watch and support the contestants. Thanks also to John Wheeler, Jim Radwill, Steve Hurst, and Amy Nelson for allow the time and space for the event to happen.
